Ok, well, as I mentioned in my last post, the spirits instructed me to wait a while before trying to contact them again. So, I did, but I waited a bit too late. I was really tired, and had this weird conversation:

Me Spirits
Is anyone there? Juno
Any message for me? One may plan long on knobby knees.
I see… well… I’m tired, any other messages? You know, like, one that makes sense? Quick.
What is quick? Linda made tilty old plates.
Riiiight… well, goodnight.

I decided I would try again in the morning when I wasn’t so tired… and hopefully the responses would be a bit less nonsensical.

Me Spirits
So, why do I have a headache this morning? No luck medial
I’m going to assume you meant “medical,” or maybe “medial lobe.” Ok, fair enough… Any message for me? Ron lied about kid.
Tell me more. Life insurance in a pond.
Where is the pond? Go look pond.
Where is the pond? Slano Michigan

Well, that was interesting! So, when I go to google maps on my phone, and search for ‘slano, michigan,’ I get a hit on an insurance company near Michigan (but not in it). When I search for ‘Slan Michigan,’ I get an insurance company on Slan St. in Toronto (near Michigan by some definitions of ‘near’). However, further web searching made me think it actually was ‘Solano, Michigan.’ Because, when I search for that, I see a Solano Dr. near a lake (the pond?) in actual Michigan.

Linda suggested that maybe the “insurance” isn’t a policy, but actually a dead body… like insurance in the form of blackmail or something. So my enthusiasm for dredging the lake has died down somewhat… :-)

Anyway, I’m going to try to keep doing the pendulum seance exercise regularly, to improve my accuracy and effectiveness. If you go look at the last one I did, you’ll see that the spirit seemed to be asking for help, and today’s seemed to want something as well. Maybe at some point I’ll get accurate enough that I can actually lend a living hand…

Ok, last night there were heavy storms where I live. When this happens, I have a ritual where I unplug all the computers and light some candles, just in case the electricity goes nuts. Then, I thought: I’ve got these candles lit, and it’s all spooky outside… might as well try the pendulum seance. To give this post aesthetic appeal, here is my stock “pendulum seance graphic”:

This was the first time I’ve tried to do it by myself, and the results were far from perfect. But, it’s practice that makes perfect, so I’ll give myself an A for effort. Here’s the transcript:

Me Spirits
Is anyone here? Yes.
Are you a spirit guide? Oz.
Your name is Oz? Yes.
Do you have a message for me? Learn mrning jamearon.

Darn! It was going so well… So, I need to learn something in the morning? I couldn’t figure out the last word…

Me Spirits
What do I need to learn? Dmon jump on my karol.
On Carole? Not my karol my jerlwy.
Your jewelry? Yes.

I have to admit, I didn’t enjoy getting messages about a demon jumping on anything while in a dark room with a loud storm outside. The cats were nervous already, and attacking each other to let off steam.

Still, I thought I might as well try to help…

Me Spirits
Can I help? tkonkonkon
I don’t understand? morning myst mr.
I still don’t understand? Atlantis morning on lolit lonklon.
Sorry, but I’m tired now… I wish I could be more help…

… and I gave up. Part of the problem at the end may be that I was getting pretty drowsy… this stuff is fast for you all to read, but it’s rather slow waiting for the pendulum to go from letter to letter… and the back-and-forth motion has that stereotypical hypnotic effect in the candlelight when you are sleepy. So, my arm may have been dipping a bit, making the words harder to recognize clearly.

Anyway, I am pretty happy with how this went, being my first time to try it by myself… I need to keep practicing.

I have been playing with pendulums for a couple months now. I know that’s a bit off-topic here, but I think most people that are into card reading probably at least have a passing interest in other divination methods. Anyway, I use them for things like:

  • Simple yes/no questions. In this case, sometimes I feel like it is a lazy way out… you’d get more information doing a card-reading, after all. But, it’s fast and simple, and works…
  • Choosing between options. Like, at a restaurant, you can run your pendulum over the drinks menu, and find the perfect drink!

But last night, we used a pendulum and a piece of paper as a make-shift ouija board, and it was really cool. You basically transcribe letters as the pendulum picks them. Here’s a really grainy picture:

It was very effective! We spoke with two or three spirit guides, one of which turned out to be up to no good… so they got banished in short order. Mostly the messages were about people in our lives who needed love and care right now.

I’ve only been in front of an actual ouija board once, so this may not be a fair assessment, but I thought the pendulum experience was much more smooth and coherent. Almost all of the responses made perfect sense, and with very few spelling errors. Except one time, we asked a spirit what she thought of me, and the response was simply: “magnolia.” Not sure about that one…

I’m definitely going to try more of this by myself, later…
